Cynthia Longoria
 is a Marketing Specialist for Purdue Federal Credit Union in West Lafayette, Indiana.  Purdue Federal is a non-profit credit union. She specializes in developing marketing and advertising campaigns.  She is a member of the American Advertising Federation, member of the Ivy Tech Diversity Council, the Great Lafayette Commerce Diversity Roundtable, and the Tippecanoe Latino Festival committee. Cynthia is a volunteer for the Purdue Athletes Life Success Program.  The free program provides sports, fitness, and health instruction, as well as financial literacy (provided by Purdue Federal) to the area youth ages 10-16.  Miss Longoria is also a board member of the Latino Center for Wellness and Education (LCWE).  She is bilingual in English and Spanish. 

 




CARLOS CARRILLO -Vice President

Carlos I. Carrillo is an associate attorney at the law firm of Ball Eggleston PC in Lafayette, Indiana.  He primarily practices in family law, criminal law, personal injury, and general litigation.  He clerked at the Indiana Court of Appeals in the summer of 2007 and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 2008.  He is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.  He is a member of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, and American Bar Association.

 

 



 


ALISON WORDEN -Secretary

Alison J. Worden was born in Ithaca, NY and has lived in Indiana for the past 15 years.  She currently lives in Lafayette, Indiana.   She is currently a nursing student at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, December 2011.  Alison is President of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing NSNA (National Student Nurses Association).  The NSNA has participated in many events throughout the Lafayette community including Dià de La Mùjer Latina (Woman’s Day) at Ivy Tech by providing free blood pressure and glucose checks, the annual Heart Walk,   raised money for Trinity Mission for Thanksgiving, and the annual Latino Festival at Ivy Tech.  She is also involved in a local Sycamore Council Latina Girl Scout Troop.   Alison has earned both Silver and Gold medals from the Girl Scouts of America. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.  Alison is a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community working part time while in nursing school.  She has been employed at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community since December 2003. 

 

 


 

  

 

JAVIER CAMPOS -Treasurer

Mr. Javier Campos was born in South Texas.  He has lived in Indiana for the past 9 years.  He lives in Lafayette, Indiana with his wife Veronica.  Their 2 kids are all grown up and are both attending college.  Mr. Campos, a Licensed Independent Insurance Broker, is currently responsible for developing a remote market in Crawfordsville as expansion services from the home office.  Daily activities include various translation services for non-English speaking clients.  Mr. Campos earned his Bachelors of Science from the University of Texas and has over 15 years of experience writing and publishing numerous professional scientific abstracts and presenting scientific posters at national conferences.  As a former Laboratory Research Manager, he coordinated and supervised graduate and undergraduate students in conducting research projects. 

 
 
 

 


JORGE FERMAN

Mr. Jorge Ferman was born in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico.  He moved to the United States in 1998.  He has lived in Indiana for the past 12 years.  He lives in Lafayette, Indiana.  Jorge is the President of the Indiana Soccer League.  The First Edition of the Indiana Soccer league had 12 participating teams from the Lafayette, Frankfort, and Veedersburg communities.  He was an assistant coach for the FC Indiana semi-professional soccer team based out of the Lafayette Sports Center.  He has been a member of the Latino Center for Wellness and Education since 2005.  He volunteers his time helping the Latino community by assisting them at doctor’s visits and other translations. Jorge is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Resa
RESA HODNETT

Resa Hodnett is the Program Manager of Membership at Greater Lafayette Commerce, the community’s nonprofit economic development group.   She manages member retention and recruitment along with traditional Chamber activities such as ribbon cutting ceremonies and business after hours.  She is staff liaison for a variety of Greater Lafayette Commerce committees including the Diversity Roundtable which provides leadership and promotes strategies to achieve a culture that values diversity as evidenced by attitudes, policies and practices within Lafayette, West Lafayette and Tippecanoe County, Indiana.  A 2002 Purdue University graduate in communications and public relations, Hodnett also studied political science and Spanish, which she speaks conversationally. She previously worked in the financial services industry.  She’s been a volunteer at Riggs Community Health Center and is active in the West Lafayette Moms and Tots Club.
